This next birthday card I made was one for my Grandma. I love these types of cards because you can take a couple of stamps and they create a beautiful and unique background. By changing the way you position the stamp, adding in a different stamp or changing the colour combination you have an unlimited amount of background card design possibilities. You may have noticed that I love making shaker cards, I made one for Christmas, I made a birthday one for my sister and now it’s time for a valentine’s shaker card. Inspiration

This card was inspired by all the little scrap pieces of cardstock that are left over from the trimmer or from die cutting. I also had a whole bunch of white and black small stars left over from a previous card that I hadn’t found a use for. It’s nice once in a while to make a card using these scraps, it makes me feel like I’m wasting less of my craft supplies. I loved making my star Christmas shaker card in my previous blog post. So when it came to getting inspired for my sister’s birthday card, I thought the sparkle from some sequins in another shaker card would make a perfect, fun, girly and cute card to make her smile. This card is mostly kept simple because the patterned paper I chose is very bold and the shaker sequins are the main focus of the card. Christmas is all about sparkle, shine and all things beautiful. So as soon as I looked at my star dies I instantly thought sequins and a star shaker card.
